Creating a webpage with Frontpage 2000
Here is the very basic way of creating a webpage using
FrontPage 2000. First, you would need to open your FrontPage
2000 program. You can do this by:
Go to "Start"
Go to "Programs"
And Click on "Microsoft Frontpage"
Then you will see a blank page:
Now, you can create your website with FrontPage. Once you're
are done, click on the "Save" button which is at the top left
hand side:
A "Save As" window should pop up. If you look to the bottom
where it says "File Name", type "index.html" all in lowercase
letters(shown in red arrow below).
That's it, you're done! Now you need to publish your site!
Publishing with Frontpage 2000
Before you can publish with Frontpage, your domain name MUST
be refering to our server.
Open Frontpage 2000
To open an existing file, go to "file" and click "open"
The "Open File" window should pop up. Open the file you want
to publish. In this case, the file we are going to publish is
"index.html".
Your webpage will open up. then go to file and scroll down to
"Publish Web"
You will see a"Publish Web" pop up sceen. Where it says
"Specify the location to publish your web to", you need to put
your domain name without the "www". If your domain name is
ipayout.com, then you would need to put "http://yourdomain.com".
Do NOT use the temporary URL (ie. http://test.yourdomain.com/~user"),
it will not work! After you put in your domain name, click on
"Publish" button on the bottom right.
FrontPage will not connect to your website on the internet on
our servers. A username and password pop up screen will
appear. Put your username and password it. Your username and
password is differant then your ftp user and pass. Please ask
support@g2webhosting.com for password. The user will always be
webmaster.
Be patient, your website is being published. It can take a few
seconds to several minutes to publish your website. It depends
on how large your website is.
Once FrontPage finished publishing, you get a "Web site
published successfully"
Thats It. Make sure that your home page html file is called
index.html. This is the first html file that thhe server will
show.
